Junior Bible Quizzing is a program designed to help our children live for God by hiding His Word in their hearts.
Children, ages 12 and under, memorize a set of verses from a particular book or topic in the Bible. The program is separated into two divisions based on age. Younger children quiz in the Beginner Division, memorizing approximately 160 verses, and older children, typically ages 9 to 12, quiz in the department’s Junior Division, memorizing approximately 260 verses.
Throughout the year these quizzers participate in statewide and nationwide competitions over their learned material. These competitions provide a way to build character in our children by teaching them to win and lose in life’s battles. This program teaches discipline, goal setting, and church involvement, while providing a source of Christian fellowship and a worthy outlet for their energies.
The most important goal of the Junior Bible Quizzing program is to equip our children with one of the necessary tools required for a mature relationship with God. Understanding and obeying scripture is of utmost importance in living successfully for Him. As the psalmist stated in Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee.” The sooner our children delve into His Word, the better.
